Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill continued their explosive run as new opening pair as India crushed New Zealand in the third ODI to complete a 3-0 whitewash. It was another dominant show from India as they outclassed Tom Latham and Co. and registered a massive 90-run victory at Holkar Stadium, Indore. Hopefully India can go on and clinch the World Cup at home!
BCCI shares a picture of Virat Kohli appreciating Rohit Sharma for his century. The Indian skipper notched his ODI ton after a long-break and it was thoroughly deserved. Rohit came close on a couple of occasions, but finally ended his wait for an ODI ton during the 3rd ODI against New Zealand.

Apart from Rohit, Shubman Gill also continued his rich vein of form and notched his century.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both scored their respective centuries in the third ODI against New Zealand. Rohit’s ODI ton came after a long gap, while Shubman had only recently smashed a century, as well as a double ton too!
Rishabh Pant is the only Indian to make the cut in ICC’s Test team of the year 2022. Pant has been in sublime form in the longer format and was rewarded for his spectacular displays. The wicketkeeper-batsman recently underwent surgery after her accident, and is currently recuperating from the injuries sustained.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma have put India in the driving seat as the team’s total crossed the 150-run mark. Both the Indian openers are looking to notch their respective centuries and propel India to a massive total.
Shubman Gill has scored a fifty in the third ODI between India and New Zealand. Gill needed just 33 balls to notch his fifty, and he’s looked impressive today. Eight boundaries and two sixes.
Having won the toss, New Zealand skipper Tom Latham decided to bowl first but the Indian openers look in complete groove. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have recorded 90 runs in just 11 overs, including a majority of those from boundaries.

Already a 50-run partnership, India eye a big total.
Harmanpreet Kaur has been selected in the ICC Women’s ODI team of the year for 2022, and she has been chosen as the captain. Apart from her, Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Thakur has also been included in the side.

Mandhana meanwhile the Indian in across men’s and women’s teams to find a place in both ODI and T20I teams named by ICC.
In Rohit’s absence, Hardik Pandya has led the Indian T20 side and is also seen as the front-runner to captain the team in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
“Not that I am aware of (India adopting split captaincy). That’s a question you need to ask the selectors but as of now, I don’t think so,” Dravid said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand.
Earlier this month, Dravid himself had called for patience as the Indian T20 team goes through a rebuilding phase hinting that it could be the end of the road for the likes of Kohli, Rohit and Rahul.
However, Rohit maintains that he hasn’t taken a call on his T20 future.
“We have three T20Is against New Zealand. We will see what happens after IPL. I have not decided to give up the format,” Rohit had said earlier this month.
Preparatory camp ahead of Border Gavaskar Trophy
    ===============================
With the build-up to the all-important four-match Test series against Australia clashing with the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals, no squad member will be released to play in the domestic marquee tournament.
The Indian Test players are slated to join a preparatory camp starting February 2 while the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals are slated for January 31.
“We would really like that the boys are able to play but it is a tough one for us. I think the quarters are on 31st or 1st and the build-up to Border Gavaskar is at exactly the same time,” Dravid said.
But the coach added that there may be scope to release players during the semifinals and final depending upon the situation.
