And India have thumped the Kiwis by a big winning margin here in Raipur. The bowlers starred while the batters joined the party later to clinch the series by 2-0 with a match to go. If the death bowling was a bit off-colour in the previous ODI, it has made all big strides in this one. Since the word go, India were all over New Zealand as the bowlers jolted the Kiwi lineup. Shami and Siraj set it up, while others chipped in to get NZ all out for 108. The Indian openers provided a solid start as Sharma hit a fifty, while Gill remained unbeaten. India lost two wickets but Kishan and Gill saw India cross the line in the 21st over. India have won the series with one match to go. We now walk to Indore for the final match of the series. Indian openers Sharma and Gill are leading this chase well. They have taken India past 50 inside the powerplay. Sharma is being the aggressor, while Gill is not much behind his captain. India looking to wrap things up quickly.
Both the openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma have made a solid start and are leading the charge well. Rohit Sharma is taking on the bowlers. This is good batting.

And New Zealand are bowled out for just 108 in the second ODI. Surely not that sort of a surface. It was rather a dominance diaplayed by the Indian bowlers. New Zealand are 9 down now as Ferguson has also been caught by Suryakumar at deep mid-wicket. Sundar gets his 2nd wicket as India are 1 wicket away from bowling their opponents out.
Sundar has struck in his second over as the last recognised batter Phillips walks back to the hut. This was dragged short as Phillips wanted to pull this but it was not enough to clear Suryakumar at deep mid-wicket. NZ are 8 down now.
Another partnership which was building has been shattered by India. This time, it was Pandya, who cleaned Santner to bring NZ 7 down.
Santner and Phillips have taken charge and it’s raining boundaries. Will the kiwis turn the tables?

Shami has found the breakthrough as Bracewell has nicked this bouncer straight to Ishan Kishan behind the stupms. Just when a partnership was building for Kiwis, Shami has come as villain for them and a hero for India.

New Zealand are in big hole as they are 5 down but the batters Phillips and Bracewell are looking to bail their team out of this trouble. NZ still have Santner sitting but they need these two to spend as much time as possible. Meanwhile, Shami is back for India.

Big credit goes to the disciplined bowling as the balls were pitched on good length areas. Looked like a sort of Test match bowling. The last match’s hero for NZ Bracewell has come out. So India have replaced both Shami and Siraj with Shardul and Pandya just before the powerplay ends. Conway has hit first four of the match in the 8th over of Shardul. India bossing at the moment.
Mohammed Shami has struck once again and wickets are raining in Raipur at the moment. Shami has caught and bowled Mitchell and NZ are in big trouble. Captain Tom Latham comes out to bat way too early than he would have liked. Note, NZ are yet to get into double digits.
And Mohammed Siraj has also struck and given India their second inside the powerplay. This is a great start for Rohit Sharma’s men. This was pitched on good length, close to the body as Nicholls tried flirting with it only to get a nick to Gill at slips. NZ 2 down.
India are currently holding the New Zealand side by their neck. Only 6 runs in 4 overs and a wicket down.
This was another poor outing for the Kiwi opener Finn Allen, who is invested by the New Zealand side in place of Martin Guptill. Allen has scored only 1 fifty in his last 9 innings.
And Mohammed Shami has given India a great start. This was a beautiful swinging ball to beat the Kiwi opener Allen and shatter the timber to send the crowd cheering. NZ 1 down without a run on board.

So Umran Malik is not picked as the Indian team goes with Shardul Thakur yet again. The pitch looks to suit batters, will this be the reason why he is chosen?
