Indian Cricket Team registered a dominant win over New Zealand in the 2nd ODI and sealed the ODI Series. The Men in Blue won the match by 8 wickets. It was a collective effort from the bowlers where they bundled out New Zealand for a paltry 108 runs inside 35 overs. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowers where he took 3 wickets and gave away 18 runs in 6 over spell.
Once again New Zealand’s top-order batters weren’t able to make a mark. Glenn Phillips was the highest run scorer for New Zealand where he scored 36 runs in 52 balls where he struck 5 fours. The management would be crestfallen with this type of performance which is unacceptable at this level.

Tom Latham looked in two minds whether to attack or defend as he scored 1 run in 17 balls. Indian pacers bowled immaculate line & length where they didn’t give any sort of room to the batters. It looked as if the Kiwi weren’t ready for a grassy pitch as this was the first match at Raipur.

During the post-match presentation, Tom Latham was asked about the team’s performance. “Batting up-top wasn’t our best performance. India put the ball in the right areas and it was one of those days where everything we tried didn’t work. On the other hand, everything India did worked,” said Tom Latham.
“There was some tennis-ball bounce, some came through, some kept low and there was some movement. We just couldn’t build partnerships at the top. Guys lower down tried to fight but it wasn’t easy. We didn’t adapt well today, considering the surface,” he added.
