Indian Cricket NEWS – Arjun Tendulkar Ranji Trophy 2022: After making a move to Goa, Arjun Tendulkar made a big statement on his Ranji Trophy debut as he smashed a hundred – just like his father Sachin Tendulkar who had achieved the same feat 34 years ago. Before making his debut in Ranji, Arjun trained under Yograj Singh – the father of legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. Yograj himself remains to be one of the finest white-ball cricketers for Team India. Yograj Singh revealed how he received a call from his son Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj told him about Sachin Tendulkar’s request to take Arjun under his wings. Yograj said Sachin is like an elder son to him and while he would not have turned down his request. However, he was very particular about no intervention and training Arjun as per his own terms.
“In the first week of September, I got a call from Yuvi (Yuvraj), saying, ‘Dad, Arjun will be in Chandigarh for two weeks and Sachin has requested if you have time to train him’. How could I have said no to Sachin, he is like my elder son. But I had one condition. I told Yuvi, ‘You know my way of training and I don’t want anyone to intervene said Yograj.

Yograj heaped praises on Arjun stating that the young lad trained rigorously before joining the Goa team for the Ranji competition. Yograj also stated that Mumbai cricket team have incurred a big loss with Arjun deciding to part ways with the domestic giants.
“Arjun will become one of the best cricketers in the world. I want to make Arjun for Sachin. Arjun will become as fearless as Yuvi. Arjun needed to come out of his father’s shadow. I told him – you are Arjun first and then Arjun Tendulkar and Sachin’s son,” added Yograj.
