Virat Kohli, the legendary batsman of the Indian cricket team, has returned to his old form. He is scoring runs continuously in ODIs and T20s. Till July last year, Kohli was being heavily criticized because he was not able to play big innings. For three years, a century did not come out of his bat. He ended this drought last year against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup-2022. Then he showed his strength in ODIs as well and he came second in terms of most centuries in this format. But there is still a wait for a century with his bat in the Tests. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has said that Kohli needs to improve his batting in Tests.

Ganguly praised Kohli but at the same time said that this veteran batsman needs to improve in Tests. Talking to Sports Tak, Ganguly said, “Yes, of course. He batted brilliantly against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. He needs to improve in Test cricket as India is heavily dependent on him. And there is an important series coming up against Australia which I think is very important. I expect it to be a very competitive series. Both are good teams. It is very likely that these two teams will play in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.

Virat Kohli played a two-match Test series on Bangladesh tour. Seeing the kind of batting he had done in ODIs, it seemed that he would score a century in Tests as well but it could not happen. Kohli did not score a half-century in both the matches. He scored another 19 runs in both the innings of the first match. In the second match, he scored 24 runs in the first innings and one in the second innings. Hence he will be watched in the Australia tests.
